Christian Group Threatened to Out Gay Politicians
Unhappy with how some politicians have supported civil rights for gays, The Christian Civic League of Maine asked supporters to send in "tips, rumors, speculation and facts" about the sexual orientation of the Maine's political leaders.

Anti-Gay Politician's Gay Son Marries
William "Pete" Knight, state senator in California, created Proposition 22 which established that "Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California." This prompted his son, David Knight, to come out of the closet as a gay man and denounce his father's policies. Now, David has gotten married in San Francisco.

Log Cabin Republicans vs. George W. Bush
Although the Republican Party is generally beholden to the Religious Right and officially endorses much that can be considered theocratic and anti-gay, not all Republicans agree with such position. In a rare move, however, an organized group of gay Republicans is officially and publicly opposing the administration's efforts to ban gay marriage.

Homosexuality in Saudi Arabia
Officially, homosexuality is a crime in Saudi Arabia - punishable, in theory, by death. Unofficially, it is tolerated to a surprising extent - there are known places where gays meet with each other and where gay Saudis can pick up gay Filipinos. Why? It appears that Saudis come back home after long stays in the West are also bringing more liberal ideas which can't be suppressed.

Daily Poll: Should Gay Marriage be Legalized?
There are fierce debates over whether same-sex couples should be allowed to have the same marriage rights and privileges as straight couples do. Some argue that this would undermine the institution of marriage, but other say that it's simply a matter of civil and equal rights.

God and George vs. Godless Gays
God and George W. Bush and God seem to have a pretty close relationship. It appears that God will ensure that Bush wins re-election, possibly even coming out to cast a vote in Bush's favor. Bush even talks to God and follows God's orders on things like going to war. Now, it seems that the two are working together on gay marriage.

Conservative Christian Case for Same-Sex Marriage
When Christians disagree on whether same-sex marriage should be legalized, you usually find liberal Christians arguing in favor of legalization and conservative Christians arguing against it. In reality, however, it is possible to make a conservative Christian case for allowing gays to marry - a case that conservatives should pay closer attention to.

Fundamentalist Supporter of Gay Rights
Usually, the most ardent opponents of gay rights and the ability of gays to lead normal lives are those who consider themselves fundamentalists of just about any religion - although in America, that usually means fundamentalist Christians. Being a fundamentalist, however, does not automatically mean that one will oppose all forms of gay rights.

Same-Sex Marriage in New Jersey
The struggle to secure same-sex marriage rights has moved to New Jersey where a deputy city clerk in Asbury Park has issued a marriage license to two men who were then married in a civil ceremony. Other applications for gay marriages are still pending and may go forward soon.

Gay Marriage & Moral Nihilism
One of the curious characteristics of conservative critique of liberal agendas, beliefs, ideas, etc. is that they are representative of "moral nihilism." Thus, signs of support for gay marriage on the one hand and opposition to government displays of the Ten Commandments on the other hand are signs of a "moral nihilism" that is infecting the nation, if not Western civilization generally. There is something very wrong, however, in labeling values different from yours as the absence of any values at all.

Fear of Hot, Gay Sex
Have you ever gotten the feeling that at least some, if not quite a lot, of the opposition to gay marriage and to gays generally has to do with people's fears of gay sex? After all, some peoples entire understanding of homosexuality starts and ends with gay sex - the idea that a gay person would have a relationship on any other level (emotional, psychological) with a person of the same sex doesn't even seem to occur to them.

Gay Bishop Takes Over
After months of debate and controversy, Gene Robinson officially became the Episcopal Church's first openly gay bishop on Sunday. Many conservative churches in America and around the world continue to oppose his position and are actively seeking ways to break ties with the Episcopal Church because of his consecration.
