Are there Any Atheistic Religions? Can an Atheist Be Part of Any Religion?

Tuesday July 8, 2008
Although most religions are theistic, which means that belief in a god or gods is incorporated into its doctrines, there are a few religions that are atheistic. Such religions may simply reject belief in any primary creator god, may dismiss the possibility of gods as irrelevant, or may even go so far as to reject and deny gods entirely. Whatever the case is, people can be adherents of these religions without bothering to believe in any gods, thus allowing for a person to be a religious atheist.

Of course! I believe that Thomas Jefferson edited the bible in just that manner. If I remember correctly, he even thought others would believe him unchristian for his beliefs. As a gnostic, I know from experience that there is a power beyond what most people will experience. I don’t care if it is called nature or the collective conscious. Most people aren’t aware of it. Most people won’t find it because they don’t earnestly look for it. It is similar to a computer. If you don’t learn the correct password, you won’t get access. I believe there have been been wo/men in history that learned the password. Men like Da Vinci, Newton, Franklin and Jefferson and Annie Besant. Each one was “ahead” of their time and prolific. If you want a place to start, learn the real meaining of “born again”, “raised from the dead” and “son of god”. They appear to be Jewish in nature, but are actually universal. I believe Jesus existed because of the evidence he did. He is supposed to have said that we can do all he did and more and that he was a sign post for us to follow. Nothing more and nothing less. I have no fear of hell and no desire for heaven. My only goals were to live a decent life and be of aid and comfort to my family and neighbors. I am not perfect, but I am content with my progress. I wish you a pleasant journey on your search for contentment.
