Beware the Anti-Evolution Brick

Sunday November 12, 2006
You may have heard of the Brick of Silence. I don't have Brick of Silence myself, though I have thought about getting one. Well, one anti-evolution extremist tried to put the concept to use in a school where he threatened people with a brick. He didn't make any demands, it seems, but he did have a Big Brick.
Monroe police reported the man walked into the school office and immediately headed down a hallway toward the principals' offices. When stopped by employees, he began yelling at them asking if he looked like a monkey.

They then noticed Mr. Wood was holding a brick. A teacher, an assistant principal and a secretary tried calming the man down, but he continued his rant about teaching evolution in schools and asked if the employees thought he looked like an ape. "He had a brick in his hand and started shaking it in the air," Mr. McLeod said. "The police were called immediately." ...

Meanwhile, the district has banned him from all buildings and Judge Braunlich has forbidden him from entering any school building. "Obviously we'll be watching out for him," Mr. McLeod said. "We don't want him around our kids."

This is obviously a very disturbed man and we should consider the fact that it was evolution he was ranting about. You don't find random guys waving around bricks to complain about teaching a round earth or the heliocentric solar system. No, it's only something opposed by organized religious extremists that induces someone to do threatening and crazy things like this.

Sorry, I don't have any links to Yirmumah comic where the Brick of Silence actually appears. If you can locate them quickly, please post them in the comments.
