The Mt. Soledad Cross was supposed to be moved, but defenders have managed to keep their legal battle going. The city voted to transfer ownership of the cross to the federal government so that it could stay in place, but Judge Patricia Yim Cowett barred this. Who knows how long this fight will continue.
