Rebuke Godless Algebra

Sunday October 30, 2005
Religious conservatives complain about biology being 'godless' with the teaching of evolutionary theory. Why don't they complain about geology being godless, about algebra being godless, or about typing classes being godless? No gods are introduced in these lessons, so why not complain about them?

In the Hollister Free Lance, Tarraccas Obremski writes a letter to the editor saying:

[I]f some Christian parents don't want their children to be exposed to the atheism some believe is inherit in evolutionary theory, then you might advise them to pull them from their mathematics classes too. Algebra is as godless as the scientific theories it's so often applied to. Funny that some don't take issue with geometric theorems leaving out, "God did it."

If you don't like anything that doesn't come with that certified "Made By God" tag then be consistent. Jesus hates hypocrites. Rebuke your godless computer with a holy sledge hammer and pray God sends you one of His own. Since science is a lie of Satan, denounce it and take to casting demons out of your body the good old fashion way. Have faith. It'll work ... if God likes you.

It's probably unreasonable to expect those blinded by religious dogma to be consistent — but it's not unreasonable to loudly point out their inconsistencies. They shouldn't be permitted to get away with spouting nonsense, especially when their goal is to undermine science and scientific education for the purpose of spreading their religious dogmas.
