More on God's Orders for Bush
The BBC will be airing a three-part series called "Elusive Peace: Israel and the Arabs" which explains:
Abu Mazen, Palestinian Prime Minister, and Nabil Shaath, his Foreign Minister, describe their first meeting with President Bush in June 2003.
Nabil Shaath says: "President Bush said to all of us: 'I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, "George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan." And I did, and then God would tell me, "George, go and end the tyranny in Iraq …" And I did. And now, again, I feel God's words coming to me, "Go get the Palestinians their state and get the Israelis their security, and get peace in the Middle East." And by God I'm gonna do it.'"
Abu Mazen was at the same meeting and recounts how President Bush told him: "I have a moral and religious obligation. So I will get you a Palestinian state."
So, it does indeed look as though George W. Bush, President of the United States, believes that he has conversations with God in which God gives Bush instructions on what to do with foreign policy, what courses of action to take, and of course where and when to use the American military. Thus, all of the deaths of American soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq must be willed by God.
It's what God wants and, therefore, we won't be leaving this region until Bush hears from God that God wants us out. When America's foreign policy is being determined by God, it would be a sin to try to do something different. I wonder how many other aspects of government policy has been determined by God — or at least the little voices in George W. Bush's head whom he thinks are God talking to him. Did the voices tell me to delay response to Katrina? Do the voices tell him to cut taxes and increase the deficit?
Quick Poll: Does Bush think he is receiving orders from God?
- Yes, and God is leading him
- Yes, but the voices he hears aren't God
- No, these reports are wrong
- I don't know
- I don't care
