It is sad to see generation by generation declining morals and values. History shows that morals and values have indeed changed over the generations, it is so blatantly obvious that a blind man could see it. We live in a generation where we are taught tolerance is more important than personal values. In some countries having an opinion like this would send me to prison.

One need not be a genius to notice that moral standards definitely evolve. A number of moral standards are different today than they were 100 years ago and many more a different than they were 1000 years ago. Personally, I think that that is a good thing. We merely need to look at the biblical teachings on matters like slavery, war, and the treatment of women. Do we still follow those teachings? No. Have we changed and moved away from those teachings? Yes. Are we all better off for it? Absolutely.

 

A Principle in an American High School recently told reporters during an interview, that his school will not tolerate intolerance. We are being taught that we must tolerate people's life-styles and choice's no matter how moral or immoral we deem it to be. This teaching is a mild form of communism.

Yes, no matter how immoral one thinks homosexuality is, they don’t have the right to engage in discrimination and, in some contexts, they won’t be allowed to promote discrimination or prejudice. I realize that some people just can’t get through the day unless they have the opportunity to attack others (maybe this is the only way they can feel good about themselves), but society in general no longer treats things like racism or sexism as acceptable. Why should discrimination or prejudice based upon sexual orientation be any different?

And, no, this has nothing to do with communism. For some, “communism” is a label tossed out almost at random to describe any viewpoint they don’t like but they only demonstrate their own ignorance when they do so. Communism is an economic system; tolerance is a human value which may or may not exist within communist economic system.

 

And when you think about it, how many practises and standards accepted today would have been acceptable 100 years ago. But this is the 21st century...get with it, this is not an acceptable excuse the facts are there, ask any Jo Bloggs on the street and they will say the same.

TL is right — there are many practices and standards accepted today that wouldn’t have been acceptable 100 years ago. Minorities have equal rights in politics, society, and business. People of different races can marry. Jews can live wherever they want. Women aren’t forced to remain in the home. How horrible! Civilization as we know it is being flushed down the toilet! Quick, we need to put white Protestant males back to the front of the line and give them special rights/privileges available to no one else — it’s the only way to save America!
