Some day medical science create
artificial wombs. This would allow us to grow a fetus outside of the mother's body, either directly from fertilization or even perhaps after fertilization and after the fetus has spent some time in a natural womb. Should we allow this to occur?

I have no problem with it. It could be a viable solution for a lot of situations.
We just need to make certain that the technology is not used to mass-produce people (Such as the “tanks”/Invitros in Space: Above and Beyond).
I imagine that the technology to transfer a fetus before birth to this “womb with a view” would render the whole abortion issue obsolete.
Further, the technology could be applied to create an accelerated breeding program for highly-endangered mammalian species.
I think most of the problems that stem from this technology at this point are not actually ethical in nature.
The biggest issue is how successful the process may or may not be, and what effect that may have on the organism created/birthed that way.
