Indian Trains Run by a God

For some reason, Bihar railway minister Laloo Prasad Yadav has decided to place the safety of trains in India in the hands of Lord Vishwakarma, God of machines. If there are any accidents or problems, then it’s Vishwakarma's fault, not Yadav’s.

The Times of India reports:

"Indian Railways is the responsibility of Lord Vishwakarma. So is the safety of passengers... It is His duty, not mine. I have been forced to don His mantle," Laloo said before a section of media persons at the CM house here late on Thursday evening. The minister said he is merely a medium of the God... He has put a picture of Lord Vishwakarma in his office. "I keep telling Him whatever accident or incident takes place on the tracks is His responsibility," the rail minister said.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t think that I would feel comfortable using trains managed by a man who sincerely believed such things. He’s abdicating all responsibility for anything that happens... so why should he be allowed to continue in his job? If Vishwakarma is really in charge, let him come and collect the paychecks and send Yadav home where he can commune with spirits on his own time.
