It's no secret that the Bushites are attacking the religion flank of Kerry and the Democrats in general. The faith-based monies to black churches is one assault - albeit a non-SOCAS one. So is the attempted recruitment of RCC higher-ups to bash Kerry. The analysis of people's response to "How often do you go to church" is funny. People do the un-churchy thing (lie) to appear churchy. Poll-takers should just visit churches is session, get to a strategic location and take a picture or video; then count heads later. A plot of "attendance inflation factor" versus denomination would be interesting - which one makes people most want to appear religious without actually being so.
I find it fascinating that pundits, even ostensibly liberal ones, are complaining that Kerry is “insufficiently religious” for the average American voter. He goes to church regularly and he often includes theistic and/or religious references in his various speeches — but pundits act as though where a closet atheist who would prefer to ignore religion entirely.
