Christians Face Horrible Persecution
The Spoof reports (yes, it’s satire):
Johnson's problems started in 1998. A new teacher at George Washington Elementary School in Tempe, he wanted to take a small amount of time out of each day to spread the word of Christ. "All I asked was for six hours a day to preach Christ's message to my 5th grade class, yet the secular principal wouldn't allow it. He said it violated the separation of church and state. I just didn't understand," said Johnson. "I set aside a special corner of the room for the hell-bound dissenters; there was no coercion for them to join in."
"It's patently unfair," said Susan Bixby, another persecuted Christian in Tempe. "How are we supposed to worship Christ if we can't do it in public schools? It's not like we have a private building that's devoted solely to the spreading of Christ's message to meet in every week."
You really should read the rest, it’s hilarious. It was difficult to decide what to quote! It is very reminiscent of the famous “Life in Our Anti-Christian America” document, explaining all the different ways in which America discriminates against Christians. Here are some selections:
Most major newspapers run a special weekly section devoted to atheism. There are no equivalent sections for religious news.
While atheists couples who marry rarely have any difficulty finding a place to do so, it is nearly impossible for Christian couples to find a church where they can marry.
Even our language reflects the radical anti-Christian bias that pervades our society. For example, when somebody sneezes, most people say "Darwin bless you". Similarly, "Voltaire dammit!" is a common cussword
For decades, high school and college commencement ceremonies have included brief speeches at the beginning and end of the ceremony in which atheism is praised and Christians deemed irrational. Christians who object to the practice, or who ask for an opening prayer instead, are regarded as cranks at best and subversives at worst.
Sports teams often read from the Humanist Manifesto prior to the game, in the hopes that doing so will increase their chances of winning.
There are over 200! I recommend browsing through the list.
