Jehovah's Witnesses Can Go Door-To-Door in Canada

Evangelists traveling from house to house have been an annoyance to many people in society; is that, however, a reason to ban such activities? Should Jehovah's Witnesses be prevented from going to people's houses in order to try and convert them? A law in the City of Blainville, Canada, tried to stop it, but without any luck.

Canada.com reports:

Justice Pierre Dalphond ruled that municipalities could adopt bylaws regulating door-to-door canvassing to guarantee the peace and safety of residents. But he said, it must be consistent with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

It's a simple, if unfortunate, fact that freedom in society means the freedom to do things that might annoy others. If our freedoms become conditioned upon what everyone else approves of, freedom will simply become an empty word.
