Ten Commandments Plaque to Stay

Robert Freedberg, president of Northampton County, New Jersey, has announced that a plaque displaying the Ten Commandments will stay right where it is. He based his statement on a federal court ruling that decided the presence of a similar plaque in Chester County, Pennsylvania, was constitutional because it had been there so long that it had become historical and not just religious. The Northampton County display of the Ten Commandments has been hanging since 1954 - evidently, that's long enough to create a historical icon out of a religious icon.
