Is there a real connection between religion and belief in the paranormal? Some, particularly adherents of various religious faiths, will often argue that the two very different types of beliefs. Those who stand outside of religion, however, will notice some very important similarities which bear closer consideration.

either something exists and is a part of the universe of it doesn’t. gods, miracles, angels, fairies, etc.? science will be the judge. it is impossible for something to be supernatural or a miracle. either people raise other people from the dead or they don’t. what could be supernatural? something that exists but is not natural? the transition to science based knowledge will be a long process. maybe total rejection of believing in things that there is no good evidence for believing in will never happen but we are evolving towards it. this is a aspect of our parochial species…neither good nor bad, but we just ended up that way. like correcting sexism and racism, the acceptance of science as our only source of knowledge will take hundreds and thousands of years.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT!! What a long haul it will be. I wonder if the earth or humanity will survive the jaunt.

Belief in the paranormal and religion both rely on irrational superstition faith, and not on reason and logical deduction.
