A forum member writes: So, how about the next time someone tells you they want America to get back to "traditional values", ask them if they shop at Wal-Mart. By shopping at Wal-Mart (or other superstores) they are slapping the face of traditional values, in that they condemn the traditional local family owned businesses to death. What percentage of people do you think, that whine about wanting traditional values in America, shop at Wal-Mart instead of supporting their local merchants? I suspect the number is very high.
This, I think, is one of the growing number of examples of how market capitalism can conflict with the "traditional values" position otherwise endorsed by social conservatives.
