Ohio Democrat Wants Death Penalty for Homosexuals
WTOL reports:
He tells News 11 homosexuality should be a felony, punishable by death. “Just like we have laws against murder, we have laws against stealing, we have laws against taking drugs -- we should have laws against immoral conduct,” Keiser says.
Maus Merryjest has more:
The trucker, who hails from Fremont, Ohio, says there needs to be more adherence to biblical values in government, business and education ... “I believe that the United States has been moved in a Godless direction by the courts,” he told the Sandusky Register. “To get good men on the court, we need good senators.” [...]
Keiser told the Register the United States should make conversion to Christianity part of the war on terror to teach Muslims the error of their choice in religion.
The candidate also decries evolution, saying it is contrary to the Declaration of Independence. “The teaching of evolution works against the liberties we have in the United States,” he told the paper. If a person believe in evolution, he or she “has no rights,” he’s quoted saying.
Deborah White points out that there is something wrong about the fact that this is being reported as nothing more than an “odd news” story, like someone finding a lost wallet after 50 years, rather than for the bigotry and hatred it represents.
If anyone tried run for elected office on the premise that Jews or blacks should be rounded up and killed, they’d bring down a firestorm of criticism — but since Merrill Keiser wants to slaughter homosexuals, it’s no big deal. Bigotry and hatred of gays is still socially accepted in much of America. Apparently, promises to murder homosexuals is socially accepted, too.
Quick Poll: Should homosexuality be a felony that is punished with death?
- Of course not — that's a bigoted, hateful idea. No decent, moral person can believe such a thing.
