Daily Poll: What is the Current State of Science Education?

Sunday March 5, 2006
Scientific literacy is crucial in today's world. Science has become such an integral part of so much that we do and need that, if a person isn't familiar with basic scientific principles and concepts, they will be lost in many public policy debates and issues. But are our schools doing enough to teach about science?

Daily Poll: What do you think about the state of science education in America today?

  • Students need to learn a lot more about science than they currently do.
  • Students already learn more science than they need - it could actually be cut back some.
  • It's probably about right.
  • I have no idea how much science is or should be learned.
  • I don't care what students learn about science.
