This Date in History: Forced Conversion of Jews

Monday January 2, 2006
January 02, 1492: Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabella of Castile, later benefactors of Christopher Columbus, end Muslim rule in Spain by conquering Granada, last Muslim stronghold. With the help of Torquemada, Grand Inquisitor, they also force the conversion or expulsion of all Jews in Spain.
