Constantine July 25, 306: Constantius Chlorus dies, leaving his son Constantine as his successor. Constantine would go on to defeat his rival and co-emperor Maxentius at the Battle of Milvian Bridge. This allows Constantine to become the sole emperor of Rome and eventually leads to the establishment of Christianity as the official religion.
