AFA Ends Disney Boycott

Sunday May 29, 2005
Well, the American Family Association has announced the end of the boycott of Disney. What, you say that you didn't know that they still had a boycott going on? You had forgotten all about it? You aren't the only one - and that may be one reason why the boycott has officially ended, without achieving much of anything.

Agape Press reports:

AFA president Tim Wildmon says there are a number of reasons for this recent decision, and chief among those reasons is what he calls "a culturally crowded battlefield." The ministry's leadership decided it was time to end the boycott, he explains, "because there are so many other issues we need to move on to and deal with that are taking our time and energy, and we feel like, if you're going to call for a boycott of a company -- if something has become that serious -- you need to have all your resources behind it."

I guess they got tired of the lame boycott, too. The boycott made big news when it was first announced, but by now I'm not sure that anyone really cares. I wonder if even AFA members remember the boycott against Disney and continue to engage in it.
