Law & Order: A Conservative Value
Traditionally, conservatives have been staunch supporters of "law & order." They didn't believe that criminal actions should be coddled, rationalized, or otherwise excused. An orderly society is one where basic standards of decency and morality were followed by most and punished when violated. Why, then, are some allowing those standards to be re-written to justify torture?
Islam & Science
It's obvious that Muslim nations are, for the most part, far behind the rest of the world when it comes to science and technology. What is the cause of this - poverty? Political conflict? Authoritarian regimes? All of this plays a role, but a more fundamental factor is quite simply the resistance of traditional religious institutions. Science undermines religion and tradition.
More 'God Squad' Bigotry Against Atheists

1) Should Partial-Birth Abortions Be Banned?
An important issue for the Christian Right in America is the effort to ban 'partial-birth abortions. They think that this will be easier than banning all abortions, but it's also regarded as a step towards that ultimate goal. Are they right that partial-birth abortions are like infanticide, or should they remain legal?
2) What Religion Did You Once Follow?
Most atheists and agnostics were not raised that way - they were, instead, raised in religious households. Although most were probably raised in Christian environments, not all were - many were raised Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and so forth. If you weren't raised a Christian, what is your religious background?
3) What Kind of Christian Were You?
Most atheists and agnostics were not raised that way - they were, instead, raised in religious households. Among them, most were raised in Christian environments - Protestant, Catholic, Orthodox, Pentecostal - the entire spectrum of Christianity. If you were Christian once, what sort was it?
