Hare Krishnas Bankrupt

The Hare Krishnas have been a common sight at airports and other public places - but is that something which will end? Perhaps, depending upon how court proceedings go. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness has been sued by more than 500 people around the world who claim that they were abused, and now the group has had to file for bankruptcy.

The Washington Post explains;

About 90 claimants ... are involved in a $400 million child abuse lawsuit against the Krishna movement that prompted the organization to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2002. The lawsuit alleged that students attending Krishna boarding schools were abused in the 1970s and 1980s.

Many other religious groups have also been sued for abuse in the past, but none (that I know of) have had to take steps as drastic as this. I wonder if there is any chance that the organization could "go out of business” completely? I'm not aware of any denominations or religions having that happen to them, but I suppose that it could be possible...
