Ex-Gay Ministries

Saturday February 21, 2004
A forum member asks: One of my friends (who is lesbian) said that she had seen an investigative report on TV sometime ago about the ex-gay ministries and that the report claimed a very high (in the 90s percent range) fail rate. That usually within 3 months of completing the whole thing they drop the ex-gay thing and go back to how they were before. I decided to write this because a) I wanted to know if anyone knew of where I could find some statistics on the success/ fail rate of ex-gay ministries ... and b) I also wanted to hear what you think about this. Does anyone know someone personally who has been through this? Did they "go straight" or what?

There is a lot of criticism out there of ex-gay ministries and the evangelical groups sponsoring them. To what extent are these criticisms justified? Read More...
