Post Office Caters to Killers (Muslims)

Bigotry and prejudice against Muslims in the United States can be pretty strong - stronger than a lot of people may realize. There are those out there who honestly think that Muslims are all evil killers, just waiting for the opportunity to strike.

Consider this letter written by Lynn Yohe and published in the Valley News Dispatch:

[T]he U.S. Post Office wants to commemorate all those Muslims who horrifically murdered Americans. Muslims who gladly claimed responsibility for the 1993 bombing that brought down PanAm Flight 103 in Scotland, then the first World Trade Center bombings that murdered Americans. They bombed U. S. military barracks in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia that murdered Americans, bombed the USS Cole that murdered Americans, and then there was the Muslims' murderous attack on Sept. 11 (all of the hijackers were Muslim).

Yohe doesn't acknowledge the difference between commemorating an Islamic holiday and commemorating specific Muslims. I haven't seen any stamps with the pictures of terrorists on them - but that probably doesn't matter for some.

I watched a program that featured a former Muslim who spoke out against the Muslim faith and the Muslim government, because they teach their own people hatred, terrorism and to murder Christians. They believe our God had an adulterous affair with Mary, and she became pregnant. Allah and Jehovah are not the same. Allah curses all Christians and is a god of the moon.

And everything you see on TV is true, right? Somehow, I have a sneaking suspicion that this "program" was produced by Jack Chick...

How twisted is it that the Muslims are getting their own Christmas stamp, but we can't post the Ten Commandments on federal property?

How twisted is it that Yohe hasn't noticed that, every year, the Post Office issues more than one stamp commemorating Christmas - and at least one of those is religious in nature? She's comparing apples an oranges, unless she can point to any federal buildings that post Muslim documents.
