Jury Seated in Scientology Case
As the St. Petersburg Times reports, though, this isn't the actual case about McPherson; rather, it's case about Scientology allegations that the McPherson estate lawyers breached a contract when they tried to add Scientology leaders to the McPherson wrongful death lawsuit:
The case is an offshoot of the wrongful death lawsuit against the church by the estate of Lisa McPherson, a Scientologist who died in 1995 after 17 days in the care of the church, whose spiritual headquarters is in downtown Clearwater. ... Lirot called the breach case an attempt by the church to financially "suffocate" Dandar and the McPherson estate to prevent them from further pursuing the wrongful death lawsuit. That lawsuit, now six years old, has not been set for trial.
And how many more years will go by before the McPherson case ever goes before a jury as well?
