Phyllis Diller: Atheist

Recent news has provided a wider population with the fact that Katharine Hepburn was an atheist and that Barry White was a skeptic when it came to traditional religion. Now, an article in the LA Times reveals something similar about Phyllis Diller.

There is no direct quote and it is only mentioned in passing, but it does say: "In the quiet of the plane, Diller revealed that she is an atheist."

How many other famous people are atheists, agnostics, and skeptics but generally keep that sort of information quiet? Would public prejudice against atheism reduce a bit if it were known how many famous people were nonbelievers, or would there simply be a backlash?
